Scott Bolland has been
playing leading
roles in musical
theatre
productions and
concerts for
over 16 years.
Trained by Colin
Keats, and Jason
and Leisa
Barry-Smith,
Scott's
favourite
credits have
included Judas
in Jesus
Christ Superstar,
Curly in
Oklahoma!,
Fredrick in
the Pirates of
Penzance,
Tommy Albright
in Brigadoon,
the Mikado in
the Mikado,
Mr Smithers in
the
Sentimental
Bloke,
Phillip in
Spellbound,
Mat of the Mint
in the
Beggars Opera,
and the Squire
in Canterbury
Tales.
Scott's other
favourite
memorable
moments have
included
performing to an
audience of
10,000 at the
Brisbane
Entertainment
Centre (as the
lead in his high
school's entry
in the Rock and
Roll
Eisteddfod),
singing Robbie
Williams numbers
at an
International
Convention for
Secretaries at
the Brisbane
Convention
Centre,
featuring as a
special guest
artist at Club
Banora, Twin
Towns, and
playing Santa's
chopper pilot
for Channel 7's
Lord Mayors
Christmas
Carols. Perhaps
the greatest
accolade given
to him so far
however was from
Red Symons, when
Scott won the
Red Faces
segment on
Channel 9's
Hey Hey its
Saturday, by
donning a blue
dress and
singing "don't
call me a
transvestite"
(to the tune of
"Don't Cry for
me Argentina") -
the comment from
Red being "Just
look at yourself
..... you're
magnificent!"
Now a father of
3, he is turning
his focus to
production, with
"Swingin' on a
Sunday" being
the fourth
charity
fundraising
event that he
has organised
utilising
Brisbane's
finest musical
performers. |
